Google Pixel foldable and a 'Pro' tablet hinted at in Android 13 code

Google just rolled out the first Android 13 Quarterly Platform Release beta, and developers have already revealed code that hints at a pair of devices to come: the rumored Pixel foldable and a new "Pro" tablet ( via Android Police).

In a thread on Twitter, developer Kuba Wojciechowski shares screencaps of code that refers to the unfolded and folded states of a device called "Felix". It mentions the cameras that the device also uses, which could include a 64-megapixel (MP) Sony IMX787 primary sensor and a 10.8MP Samsung S5K3J1 telephoto lens on the back of the phone. The device could feature an 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor (the same one used by the Pixel 6A) on the inside and another Samsung S5K3J1 on the front.

The dual rear camera system of the foldable confirms that the device may fold horizontally like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. Last year, it looked like Google was also working on a device that folds clamshell-style, but with animations similar to those found in Android 12L and an icon pointing to a phone in Google's Camera app. Is. Which folds like a book.

In addition to digging up details about Google's upcoming foldable, Wojciechowski also saw references to a "Pro" tablet called the "T6pro" or "tangorpro". Google confirmed that it is working on an Android-powered tablet at I/O in May, and developers have since figured out that the "t6" and "tangor" refers to the device. But now that we're looking at the "pro" nickname associated with these codenames, it could indicate that Google is working on a higher-end version of the tablet as well. As reported by 9to5Google, the code reveals nothing more than the fact that both the devices will be using different rear cameras.

These findings come less than a month from Google's Pixel launch event on October 6th, where we'll see the debut of the Pixel 7, Pixel Watch, and new Nest devices. We're not expecting to see the rumored tablet or foldable at this event, though — the Pixel tablet isn't going to come out until 2023, and rumors suggest the Pixel foldable has been delayed until next year.

  1. This is not just a film adaptation, but also an adaptation to modern realities. Back in 1953, Clark depicted what is happening in Western society now. And looking at the changes made by the aliens, it comes to an understanding that humanity must change and the time for this has already come.
