It's the last Bandcamp Friday of 2021
In March 2020, Bandcamp launched a promotion where it would drop a portion of the revenue from its on-stage sales artists, providing some additional support to artists with limited opportunities suddenly due to the coronavirus pandemic. This arrangement turned into a monthly event, as Bandcamp Fridays encouraged fans to seek support by purchasing audio tracks and merchandise from the previous two years.
Bandcamp has promised to continue work throughout 2021 and dutifully closed its cuts on the first Friday of every month. There is only one question left, what will happen next? The note about Bandcamp Friday for 2021 is no longer included in the blog post announcing the promotion, and no one has updated customers or creators about 2022 plans.
