No one can stop smartphone leaks
Last week, when TechCrunch reported that OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei's new startup, Nothing, may be on the verge of announcing its first smartphone, it said it showed off a prototype of the unannounced device to Qualcomm CEO Cristiano. Have seen a picture of the PE. Amon. Now, a very similar, if not very similar image, has been publicly posted on Twitter by the prolific and reliable leaker Evan Blass.
Everything about this photo screams "tech trade show." There's sleek modern decor, antique rugs, reusable water bottles kept on hand, and of course, the unmistakable hint of pristine white sneakers worn with skinny jeans and jackets. TechCrunch reports that the photo he saw was taken at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and you know what? I believe
But enough about the room - let's take a look at the phone itself.

Yes, definitely looks like a smartphone to me. TechCrunch reports that we may announce it officially next month and that its design will include "elements of transparency". But if there's anything else we can get to know about the phone from the blurry picture above (though, please prove me wrong in the comments).
In short, Nothing launched its first product, a pair of true wireless earbuds, last year. But from the outset, Pei has made it clear that he plans to produce an entire ecosystem of devices for it. A smartphone would be a logical part of that ecosystem, though I'd be interested to see what the company is able to accomplish after having existed for just over a year.
