This FF7 Buster Sword watch will keep you from casting snooze

Are you a fan of Final Fantasy VII? Tired of Oversleeping? Don't want to use your phone as an alarm, lest you get caught up in doomscrolling? Well, do I ever have a solution for you: a standalone digital watch modeled after Final Fantasy VII's iconic Buster Sword.

Cloud Strife's ridiculously large sword miniature replica—specifically, the version in Final Fantasy VII Remake—is set at an angle that's reminiscent of how you view it on the game's main menu screen. The timing is prominently illuminated for display on the blade of the sword, and the materia near the handle is also brought to light.

If you love Final Fantasy VII Remake's music — like me — you'll be pleased to know that you can set five of the game's best songs as your alarm:

Main Theme of FFVII - Sector 7 Undercity
Let the fight begin! - a business job
The Airbuster (remix of the original FF7 Boss Battle theme that completely explodes)
Aerith's Theme - Home Again
One Winged Angel - Reincarnation
If you want to find out what music sounds like on a watch's speakers, watch this video from Square Enix. The sound quality isn't great, but it might be worth tackling so that Sephiroth's theme song is the first thing you hear every morning.

Before getting ready to drop a few gil on the clock, let me point out a few not-so-nice things. For one thing, the watch costs... $199.99. If you've run out of money now, you're already preordering the watch ahead of its expected January 2023 release date. According to Square's website, the clock only shows 24-hour time. And you better hope that weak speakers can wake you up everywhere, because the watch doesn't even have a snooze button.

But, if you're willing to wait, actually own a miniature replica of Cloud's Buster sword, and are living dangerously without a snooze button, you can preorder yours now. While you wait, maybe your dreams will be filled with classic songs from Final Fantasy VII - soon, you'll even be able to listen to them from the official watch.
