The first public betas for iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 are underway right now, and if you can't wait until the official release to get your hands on those sweet lockscreen customization options, you can download them today — at your own risk. How to Install iOS 16 Beta?
Go to Apple's beta software portal on your phone's Safari browser and sign up or sign in with your Apple ID.
If you haven't already enrolled your iOS device, enroll it. It involves agreeing to a lengthy set of terms and conditions. Did we mention it was at your own risk?
Once you're enrolled, scroll down to Reminders to make sure you back up your phone's contents in case you need to go back to a previous state.
Continue scrolling down until you find a button that says Download Profile, then tap on it. This will bring up a warning that says the website is trying to download a configuration profile. Select permission. You will get a pop-up window that says you can set up a new profile from the Settings app.
Open the Settings app. A new section called Profile Downloads should be added near the top. Select it, and you'll have access to the beta software download.
Select Install on the top right corner. You will need to re-enter your password and agree to the usual very long consent statement by tapping Install one more time.
You may need to restart your phone to activate the profile.
Once this is all done, you can update your software as usual: by going to Settings > General > Software Update. You should see iOS 16 update there; Select Download and Install and follow the instructions from there.

The new version of iPadOS includes a redesigned Home app, a new Whiteboard app, support for passkeys in Safari, and many interesting new features. How to Install iPadOS 16 Beta?
